King’s College Hospital London,  the world-renowned teaching hospital based in the UK,  has brought its 175 years of history and experience to the UAE.  King’s College Hospital in the UAE consists of its 100-bed, state-of-the-art multispecialty hospital in Dubai Hills, and two outpatient clinics based in Dubai Marina and Jumeirah.

The Hospital is committed to providing world-leading expertise and patient luxury experiences through evidence-based on care given to residents of the country.

King’s College Hospital Dubai has been established to provide the finest level of healthcare regardless of whether the medical problem is simple or complex, including consultations, diagnostic tests, treatments and recovery support. The number one priority is patient care treated with the utmost dignity, respect and confidence.  The medical team is empowered to earn the trust of patients and their families with outstanding, compassionate and personalized care.

King’s College Hospital Dubai created a facility that has enabled staff to provide the highest standards of patient care and increase patient luxury experience.  Healthcare settings must protect patients in every way.

Water control for example, must protect them from infections causing pathogens. Taps and showers are built to resist bacterial build-up and minimize cross-contamination, while its thermostatic mixing valves always deliver water at a safe temperature.

“When choosing water control, we were faced with some challenges that are unique to the Middle East. Freshwater sources aren’t freely available in Dubai, so supplies are created by filtering seawater at desalination plants. This makes water a more expensive resource than in the UK, for example, so responsible usage is vital because it has a higher impact on running costs. Having a system that helps manage water consumption while prioritizing safety is a huge benefit here,” explained Kevin Duffy, Chief Development Officer at King’s College Hospital Dubai.

Comfortable spaces for patients can offer luxury experience and improve wellbeing,  and in healthcare, this approach can help patients recover.

The relationship between King’s College Hospital London and the UAE extends some way back, to 1979, through a generous donation from His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, former President of the UAE. He helped establish King’s Liver Research Centre in London. The Centre is now among the top three liver specialist centers in the world. King’s, in partnership with Al Tayer Group, Dubai Investments, and Ashmore Group, has cemented its position as a leading healthcare provider in the UAE.

King’s College Hospital London is 100% committed to helping the UAE achieve its healthcare Vision 2021 of a world-class healthcare system.  The Hospital has made a significant investment and commitment to the UAE which aims to become a leading teaching hospital in the UAE within the next 5 years. They are also developing a postgraduate training system with King’s College London Medical School and the Royal College of Surgeons that will be established within the next year.
