According to the latest UN data, the World Health Organization (WHO) says that nearly one billion people around the world have some kind of mental disorder. The information that was made public said that the shocking number was even scarier because it included about one in seven teenagers.
“To make matters worse, the rates of common conditions like depression and anxiety went up by more than 25% in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said.
“Everyone knows someone who has a mental health problem. WHO’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said, “We need to change our thoughts, actions, and ways of doing things to promote and protect mental health and to help and care for those in need.”
