Itchy eyes

According to the World Health Organization, people infected with the new variant of the Corona virus – Omicron, may have  vision and eye problems, which cause itchy eyes.  Possible symptoms that indicate infection with Omicron, may be red and irritated eyes,  decreased vision, swelling of the white part of the eye and the lining of the eyelid, i.e. conjunctivitis and allergy symptoms.

The Mayo Clinic and the British Journal of Ophthalmology have listed that light sensitivity, eye pain and itchiness are the most common eye problems caused by the Corona virus. Another study by Indian researchers states that 44% of patients with Corona virus face eye problems, compared with 35, 8% of the general population. Problems can be early symptoms of the disease, and are treated after the patient recovers.
